Dogs or cats?
I do like animals, over the course of many years we had many different pets come and depart our home. My eldest daughter is now 36 and youngest very nearly 22 yrs old as I write this. We have had cats and dogs, rabbits, Guinea Pigs and hamsters, gerbils, finches, canaries and fish both tropical and cold water up to 6 tanks at a time. So when I say I have experience of pets I have.
I grew up on a farm, animals had a purpose, dogs were working animals. Cats were to keep the mice and rats at bay, and in our home pets were something never thought about because there was always a baby of some description on the farm.
Where am I going with this ?
I am a disabled 57yr old women who likes, please note likes not loves Cats and dogs, but;for cats
1. The fur gets everywhere and I can’t cope with it
2. Feeding time, can’t stand animals on food surfaces but cats go where they like, and don’t wash their paws
3. The struggle to feed myself is bad enough to feed a cat who can be fussy would be so annoying and painful with bending and picking up dishes etc, plus expensive.
4. Cat mess nope nope nope nope
Now dogs
1. The fur gets everywhere and I can’t cope with it
2. Feeding time, can’t stand animals who walk in all the dirt and faeces and they don’t wash their paws
3. The struggle to feed myself is bad enough to feed a dog who is messy would be so annoying and painful with bending and picking up dishes etc, plus expensive.
4. Dog mess nope nope nope nope
So; which is it
I struggle to look after myself so I am not a dog or cat person. I don’t need an animal for company or a man come to that. My company is found in the pages of books also an animal will take what little energy and resources I have if it suits you that’s wonderful but me peace is all I need
