What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

My favourite hobby is, making, watching, using, so much to say

I love reading 📖, to date I believe I have approximately 1500 books 📚. Have I read them all? No, I have a pile of new books waiting to be read, cookery books that I flick through searching for an appropriate recipe, and various books of information as reference, so I have not read the dictionaries in 3 languages just used them for spelling words correctly. Yes I also re-read my books

I love painting, creating, craft work most types actually, my front room is at present an art studio because my shed is a mess and I simply can’t clear it on my own,

Crochet 🧶, I guess comes under craftwork but to me it is a separate hobby, I am just learning and I am quite enjoying it sat quietly at night with the tv on just making a blanket is a peaceful calming experience before bed.

I guess the absolute love above all when in the right frame of mind is writing, it may be poems or short stories or continuing with the book I am writing and one day will finish. I have to feel the words to be able to write so have taken a break for a while because I have been in a strange headspace for coming up to 18 months. But there is clearance ahead and I can go back to writing.

Lastly sitting quietly meditating and turning the noises off inside my head, dulling the pain inside my body, and breathing my way to calm and stillness

Not forgetting my Music and films and probably many other hobbies I have that I failed to mention. But that is half the fun, I open a cupboard and there is another project, like Christmas all over again.

I have time for all these hobbies because I am unable to work due to multiple health issues .

I have cPTSD , multiple medical issues, short term memory issues, disabled, p/t wheelchair user, crutches at all other times.

Majority of issues including the need for a wheelchair caused by Domestic Abuse

How are you today? Hope you are starting to realise life is about YOU, without investing in yourself your batteries will deplete and you will no longer be of use to family, friends, colleagues, work, whoever relies on you. Start putting yourself first so there is at least something of you to afford to give to others.😊

IF I started a sports team apart from it would definitely be a fantasy sport, as I have very little interest in any or most sports, I would have to put a ME element to it, just to add to the panache don’t you think, well we all need more smiles and laughter, something to lift us, up not drag us down.

So my teams colours would be bold, unforgettable and a little bit OTT . Hey I am doing this my way, team stripes first so that they feel like a real team, or idiots in what I design

What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?

Hello, hello again to all. Now the last think I searched for online according to Google was radiator covers, but that didn’t seem correct so I thought my phone is not telling me the truth I will ask my PC 🖥️ and my PC kindly informed me I had searched online for a new wheelchair which had turned into a disaster because somehow it had got to boring and expensive and it looks like I ended up on reels on Facebook with wheelchair races and crazy stunts.

So I turned my phone off and back on again left it to update and was watching these people doing things I could only dream of, definitely not want to do. All I can say is I think 🤔 I am easily distracted.

Big difference between the two re searches on PC but I think I may have narcolepsy type of attack which happens on occasion. today has been a little like that at least I haven’t fell asleep stood up.

I am sorry for errors that may have occurred, this has been an extremely difficult day on keeping my focus and this one little piece has taken me a couple of hours.

Hello my friends, I made it once again. Now my biggest waste of time and I hasten to add, as I am doing it I am aware I am wasting minutes, hours and then the day is done, is ;

No it’s not that simple I have to explain, I have difficulty moving around which makes me tired and some days I can’t hardly move so this is my waste of time, my mind numbing don’t think about my situation or how I came to be (ugh) disabled. Ok I will stop with the waffling and tell you.

My biggest waste of time is reels on Facebook and Instagram even Tik Tok. I spend hours watching, smiling, giggling, sighing, and learning at times all the while the hours pass.

Ok I’m off now to watch some fb reels

It’s all same to me

What is your favorite season of year? Why?

If you are living in the UK 🇬🇧 I think you may understand the title. We no longer have seasons, not like I remember as a child ;

Spring so full of new beginnings, days getting a little longer and maybe warmer, flowers pushing through the thawing ground, and the new life all around, lambs always my favourite

Summer, well it’s the UK 🇬🇧 warm, so sometimes hot, bank holidays rain. But mostly lazy hazy crazy days of summer just like the song words say (Nat King Cole) 🎶

Autumn, colourful busy and plentiful (I grew up on a farm) harvest, fresh vegetables in the garden, trees changing colour and a slight cooling in the breeze 🌾🌾🐏🚜

Winter was always cold, teeth chattering, shivering 🥶 but always a warm fire and the Rayburn to warm up hands and toes. The frost would make patterns inside and outside of the glass on our windows, and the snow was a blessing (no school) and a problem (dad had double the workload). We shared funny stories and played games , all snuggled up and watched tv as family because no one wanted to play outside in minus temperatures.

So back to now we don’t have seasons like this now we have a rolling change of erratic weather patterns that have changed our seasons into a merged mess. Now I am not getting into this whole “global warming” “the moon moving away from us” “doomsday” “solar flares” or anything else but the weather has change dramatically in my lifetime. I’m 58. Some places are so hot it’s killing people, while here we have rain, shower and oh rain it’s a wonder we don’t evolve with webbed feet.

So my answer sorry is I no longer have a favourite season and the reason is because the country I live in no longer has seasons, well that’s how I see it as I sit here in June shivering in my winter dress

Nervous or just plain scared stupid

What makes you nervous?

Hi 👋

I just dropped by to say I’m still around, although at times I do wonder where I actually am. Usually stuck in my own head, trying to block pain and coping with PTSD . I manage most of the time by wearing my happy face , just sometimes that face has to go in for repair hence my absence from here for a while.

What makes me nervous? Many things, if I am to be honest. I won’t bore you with my trauma as everyone has their own trauma of some kind to deal with and if you say ‘ well I don’t have any’ well gosh where have you been living and can I move in please 😉

Anyway I digress what makes me nervous picking the first one that I struggle with, the DARK. Yes the night or dark places I feel my heart beating so fast it jumps into my throat and my stomach shrivels to the parched remains of a catfish in the desert after 3 months of no water.

Ok a little over the top but along those lines . I have good valid reasons. Of that I can assure you.

Question why is the silence louder the darker it is?

Why is your heart beat so loud that it can echo in a room giving away your location? Well the second one is not really a question it’s just feels like it is beating loudly .

What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

Hello 👋 again

I repeat Hello 👋 again.

I don’t think I have ever been a goggle box, square eyes 👀 person. To watch a series once is ok maybe even good, twice would have to be amazing, but never any more.

As for films 🎥, there are a few I may have watched 3 times but I have a habit of falling asleep because I know what’s happening. I just am not that interested in being a slave to the black slab with moving images.

I am sure some people are hypnotised by the tv, I hear my son talking about films and I haven’t a clue what he is talking about, he flicks through a list on Prime and all I hear is, seen it, seen, seen, rubbish, good, seen. He is in his early thirties, what on earth, where does he find time? He works, plays video games on PC with mates, and watches all these films, 🍿.

My head is still back with those dam penguins from the film Madagascar

I am not a slave to the box but it seems after hearing certain films playing in the background over the years, my mind has picked up catch phrases

So after my mini growl, I have decided I can’t name something I have watched more than five times, but when you get to asking about books then my full attention and excitement will be unleashed

What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?

Hello and welcome to the world in which I exist.

I love my middle name because it was my maternal grandmothers middle name. To me her name just rolls off my tongue, with a warm caress.

Nellie Marie Louise

I inherited the Louise for which I am so happy for. It makes up for the fact growing up I simply hated my Christian/first name Kim

The name Kim is from the Old English word, “cumb,” which means royal fortress or meadow.” Kim can also be a shortened form of the names from the Old English name Cyneburga.

But and I mean but it is also a unisex name in the short form and more so in the 1960s.

Also growing I had so many little songs made about my name I became very sensitive. Silly looking back but it’s all about growing into your identity.

So I am very much an Ancestry sleuth and the middle name Louise has been handed down through the family for many generations
