My Name is;

What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?

Hello and welcome to the world in which I exist.

I love my middle name because it was my maternal grandmothers middle name. To me her name just rolls off my tongue, with a warm caress.

Nellie Marie Louise

I inherited the Louise for which I am so happy for. It makes up for the fact growing up I simply hated my Christian/first name Kim

The name Kim is from the Old English word, “cumb,” which means royal fortress or meadow.” Kim can also be a shortened form of the names from the Old English name Cyneburga.

Cyneburga – daughter of a king

But and I mean but it is also a unisex name in the short form and more so in the 1960s.

Also growing I had so many little songs made about my name I became very sensitive. Silly looking back but it’s all about growing into your identity.

So I am very much an Ancestry sleuth and the middle name Louise has been handed down through the family for many generations

Louise

The name Louise is primarily a female name of French origin that means Famous Warrior.Feminine form of the name Louis.

The history of Louise spans back to the early Middle Ages when the ancient saints and royal members popularized it. The 16th-century saint ‘Louise de Marillac’ was a historical personality bearing this name; she co-founded The Company of the Daughters of Charity, a group or society for women within the Catholic Church

Now I realise Louise is a common middle name, that makes no difference to me, it was my Grandmother’s and means so much. Louise is special enough for me to have given it to my eldest daughter, as her middle name

So my dilemma over not liking my first name and loving my second name was solved with a simple – . Yes I chose to write as

Kim-Louise

If you please 💜

It pleases me to hyphenate the names and makes Kim a little less austere, please remember this is how I feel and never a judgement on the actual names

Take care

World of Words

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

Hello my friend,

What a conundrum I have over this question, it reminds me of a poem I wrote sometime ago;

http://www.kimlouisepoems.com/

⬆️to find more of my poetry , granted website in dire need of an upgrade, which is on a list of must dos, somewhere

I am passionate about words, yes even the bad ones (swear and slang). Words are an expression of how we feel. Maybe a person doesn’t use words the way you do, fine, there could be many reasons, from the type of schooling received to area they live, people they mix with. So many factors involved around speech and language, please don’t confuse those two previous factors with actual WORDS.

Words are fascinating and I don’t think any should be banned, there is a rich history behind the words we speak, and shockingly some of the words we classify as awful swear words originated as medical terminology such as it was. I would never ban a word because that means we lose part of our heritage….

 Baboonery: foolishness; stupidity; nonsense

Gardyloo: used in medieval Edinburgh as a warning cry when it was customary to throw slops from the windows into the streets

Gadzooks: mild oath

Whippersnapper: a young person considered to be presumptuous or overconfident

Chicken-headed. Ignorant, foolish

Nefarious: Wicked, villainous, despicable.

Just an example of some wonderful words that have or are slowly disappearing from the English Language. People think should, could, would, why and yeah, plus hundreds of slang words should disappear, I don’t agree, words are like pearls the more you learn the more you want to learn. Like Pearls of Wisdom.

I am even pro swear words for the simple reason the history that they carry, some traceable to Egyptian and Sanskrit so thousands of years. Don’t worry I won’t start swearing today , yes I promise.🤞🏻.

People have been swearing since language evolved. This has been checked with those awful things called statistics with evidence suggesting 58% of the population swears “sometimes” or “often” and less than 10% of the population report “never” or “rarely” swearing.

Wow now that’s a good short word so rather than ban a word why not learn a word a day that will give you appreciation for this wonderful world and our beautiful language whatever language that may be 😀

Crazy, curious, come in…

Come up with a crazy business idea.

Dear Reader

I was just thinking 🤔 to myself, wow there are so many crazy schemes businesses and make money quickly ideas how can I top it when I thought !! easy people will pay for literally anything these days , yes ?

So my business is strictly legit ok? It’s called CRaF

CHOSE RENT a FRIEND

Originally it would have been person not friend but that would have have been embarrassing as it read CRAP (oops)

The business is all about mental health and how people are spending so much time alone, conversation is almost a dying art. Now some of the senior managers would have counselling skills for different traumas, but a lot of staff would be friendly happy chatty people who just want to make the world a better place .

They obviously would be trained to the CRaF guidelines and then people would be guided to this service.

Obviously cost is a huge factor in everything, so your friend might meet you in a coffee shop or go to town with you. All expenses are covered for your friend and yourself as in coffee and a cake or even an ice cream. There is no cost to the client .

We are a business like anyone else and we run via donations from large corporations that need to have tax cuts. Any profits split 50% into regrowth 50% into parties, tea dances, choirs, Christmas and as many social events as we can because shutting the door on the world won’t help. But a tea dance might, don’t knock it till you try it. Too many things to list. Just please we don’t allow social media so no phones. Old style cameras only

The aim is to grow homes like this everywhere we can. Within 5yrs the business intends to have 20 houses fully staffed with friends who care. Who can start clients back on the road to socialisation, to overcoming whatever is troubling you. A friend in need we have the friend you need.

This business a new beginning an end to the silence, there will be a lot going on

In this crazy business of mine KLN

Oye Oye Hear My Words

Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

I was born to perform, not as an actress, oh no I would never remember my lines, moves or cue. But all the worlds a stage my darlings and every day is a new part, a new start.

Dear Readers

So back to the prompt of the day have I ever performed on eirkllllstage or given a speech? It pleases me to say yes to the first and in a roundabout way yes to the second.

As a teenagera I was involved in amateur dramatics with the YFC and performed in competitions regionally, we reached the semi finals one year and I was so proud of our club. We h me o act and sing and of course dress up, well actually dress down that time as we sang our way through old London Town. We Rolled out the Barrel we had a Barrel of fun and carried on with My Old Man, said follow the van and don’t dilly dally on the way. Our play was a Pearly Kings & Queens London , with the old time music hall songs.

(YFC was the Young farmers club)

Then years later I started reading poetry , my own work to open spiritual evenings .

My proudest moment in the oratory world was being asked by the local DAA to be their show host for an awareness event. introducing the acts, keeping the audience entertained and even having my chance to read my own work . and give a step toward publishing it.

(DAA dementia action alliance)

Yes I have many times stood in front of group of people for many reasons and spoken aloud work and other matters and I enjoyed it .

Little secret I don’t think I needed the microphone 😁

Have a wonderful day, evening or night till we meet again

Well said

Repetition Is The Mother Of All Skills

What skill would you like to learn?

Dear Reader

How exciting it would be, to learn a new skill, but what should it be?

I can bake and cook,

I can sew and mend

Paint and paper and decorate my house! Ok I used too before my wheelchair held me back

I don’t want to do plumbing or be an Electrician.

So what do I want to learn? A language ❌

Knitting ❌

There must be something, then the small voice SCREAMS from the back of my head you need to organise your life your home your mind that is the Skill you need to learn.

How can my brain function when everything is in disarray, bills, shopping, clothes, desk, forgetting to eat. Come on woman learn that skill set .

With that I am now looking for the work book organisation home, life, mind, but I seemed to have misplaced it .

Think I need to look at the skill of minimalist and how to achieve said life. first. Oops

Bye for now

Money, Money Everywhere But What About My Health

List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

My Dearest Friend(s)

One must apologise for one’s absence, I realise no one noticed, but it is indeed good manners to pass on one’s sincerity’s. Hey for one moment I actually sounded rather 19th century posh, how tiresome.

Well back to the prompt of the day, of course money is an issue in most dream jobs, but I am hindered by mobility so for the sake of a fair playing field for one day and one day only Kim is going to be (drum role please) NOT HINDERED BY CRUTCHES OR WHEELCHAIR

1/ I would like to own and run a mega fancy dress shop that hires and sells quality Reasonably priced fun wear for all ages, within that shop their will be a seamstress or two and we will cater for parties , weddings i.e medieval themed occasions. Even tv in the area , stage anything . It would be the party warehouse central. Even throwing it’s own events monthly over the region. Children’s parties 🎉 not a problem our vehicles would be kitted out with everything needed . Good old days of the party bus well there would be a venue of party buses Hows that for job number one

2/ I have always wanted my own crafting workshop set up for ease of access, not even saying I want equipment, I would use what I have and I would like the workshop to have a shop/display front so that I have a place to display my work and part of the studio frontage can be hired by starting artists to give them a step up so the public can see and enjoy and hopefully buy our creations

3/ A book shop combined coffee shop combining two passions in one, my love of books, and coffee with a snack of course. Not so much a new book shop but a second chance book shop, pre loved books waiting to be read again. Actually if someone came in and bought coffee and cake and sat in the comfy chairs with a book that would be ok with me . Because this would be perfect. Let the troubles slip away at Kim’s cozy cafe & book nook. This place would be serving the community in many ways, nothing to do but don’t want to sit alone, come sit and have a hot chocolate in the coffee shop, join the book club well one of them . Kids area with a reader and to be honest what’s better than comfy chairs a coffee and a book. Or keeping warm and having a natter with Maureen and her neighbour Paula. So much you can do for people if you just want help

My three ideal jobs if money and health were not a problem

Keep Smiling My Darlings

Keep Happy

Here We Go

Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

Dear Friends

In school I was taught to sit up straight,

Face the front, and listen with your ears and mouths to stay shut.

In school I learnt my ABC write the way through to XYZ

I learnt to write, spelling my name, then on to reading loved that it’s plain.

In school I went on to learn the rest History, Sciences, Technical Skills,

Mathematics, Languages, and Cookery at the end we sat exams took tests.

But in my education which was pretty much the norm for late 1970’s UK

I wanted and still do want to learn about LIFE, and how to LIVE a better way

Life should be a lesson that all kids take at 10, 15 and 20 and a top up at 30 if in doubt

I want to know more about how not to hurt so much, how to survive

Include in the lesson budgets and relationships, raising children, working, planning meals, handling emotional issues and mentoring.

So there we have it I would like to learn more about life, oh and AI plus a little more about psychology actually I just want to learn as much as I can while I can

Keep Smiling

Kim

The Lesson I Learned

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

Dear Friends

There are so many lessons I have learned in life that I wish I had known earlier it might have stopped a lot of heartache and pain.

But when carefully thinking about this question if I had some of the answers I have now at a younger age , that would have put me on a completely different path in life. Wiping away my children and grandchildren.

So I have no lessons I would wish to send back to a younger me, it’s been an uphill struggle. Sometimes I have sat and cried that I can’t continue through the heartache and pain Yet I made it to this day, there has been no answers given, just the ones I have worked hard to find, I truly think this makes me a better person for having done this on my own.

I have empathy for people from many walks of life because I have walked some pretty scary, painful paths.. hence why I had to learn for myself to become a healer.

So no I am not sharing a lesson that I wish I had learned earlier because we learn things at the appropriate times so that we understand them properly in context with the circumstances

After all Life is all about Lessons, we may not like it, but that is what it is. Learning does not stop when you leave school, you continue to learn all your life.

Many Smiles

Words Words Words

What’s your favorite word?

Words are mighty, words are fine.

Use them wisely from your lips and mine.

Dear friends,

I hope this note finds you as well as can be expected and happier than before and if not don’t fret concentrate on what will make things better.

Now my word is, well I can’t have an odd number so

1. Buttercup. xx it is a cheerful Word that I seem to use in so many situations , my favourite saying with this word is

“What’s up Buttercup”

2. Gumption love love love this word, my dad was an old school gent and some of the words he used were wonderful, this is one, a very old English but traced back to Scottish roots as far back as 1700 I believe, but I could stand to be corrected.

Dad said I had the gumption to get on in life, even if I had to be corrected, it wouldn’t phase me. To a degree he was correct but it’s taken many years to reach that point.

Because words are so very important, to even narrow it down to two was very difficult for me

Sending Smiles to all

Kim
