What would you do if you lost all your possessions?
To loose something that you class as important can be shattering, oh I can hear people saying well it’s not your life or the love of your life. But unless you have been destitute and lost everything, and I mean everything you own, there is no understanding the emptiness it leaves.
A blasé comment would be ‘well possessions can be replaced’ and ‘you can’t take them with you’. We get it, but from a mental health side of the coin, personal possessions can keep you feeling grounded, hold good memories and be full of sentimental value. Some people are lucky enough to hold no value in goods and walk away with just the clothes on their back, good for them. But for the rest of us mere mortals if it truly happened to you, and you were honest to yourself, I know I would be broken into tiny pieces …..again
My advice is be honest don’t answer from the aspect possessions mean nothing, because they do, otherwise why keep them to start with
I have lost people that I love, those gaps in life I know I cannot fill. We know life is all about birth and death, but whilst alive we do try to make life comfortable, if that is how you are. To lose belongings, and have nothing is so hard .
I agree 99%. The 1% where I have a different view is that people are not possessions.

Yes I apologise for not correcting my statement, people are of course their own beings.
I will not go back and correct because I value your comment and that in turn would make it irrelevant. Thank you for taking the time to bring this to my attention ☺️
